Don't Clap, Wale

I've never been much of a fan of corduroy, but today it was interesting to learn that the The Corduroy Appreciation Club celebrates today, 11/11, as the date which most resembles corduroy. I heard it on NPR.

Too funny. What does "Don't Clap, Wale" mean?

Members of the Corduroy do not clap at meetings. They wale - rub corduroy fabric together to make a noise.

That reminds me--it's time to dig out the corduroy and other winter wear from storage!

Oh, I love the look and feel of corduroy! It's soft and warm and lasts a long time. However, I cannot wear corduroy. It tends to make me look, well... rather large! Seriously, corduroy pants make me look like I gained 15 pounds. And nobody wants that!
