Some Stinky Knitting Ahead!

Alright, so I get this really fun kids' clothing catalog from mini Boden and I like almost everything in it.

Also, everything in it is very expensive.

A few weeks ago I told the girls to look in the catalog for one thing they'd really like to have for the new school year.

I'm excited because T expressed interest in a red pea coat.

Of course I had to ask if she'd like a scarf to go with it.

We looked at Morehouse site and she picked their skunk scarf.

I think the coat/scarf will make a perfect combination!

Notes: Maybe I'll knit Sarah's club covers to match! Row 2 of rib pattern was hard to follow.

Last night I casted off a putter cover for my hubby. This is the third one I've knit for him, so I hope this one is around for awhile. The first one he lost on a green somewhere. Therefore, on the second putter cover I attached a note saying "If found, please call ph # and my wife will knit one just for you. Thanks." That cover fell apart.

Hubby said that the second cover fell apart because it was not heavy enough, it had to be knit more tightly. I tend to knit very loosely so this time I held two strands of worsted weight yarn held together and knit on US #5 dpn. If this does not hold up I'll felt the next one.

Hubby, here is another putter cover for you and I hope it is strong enough to withstand the rigors on the course and I hope it brings you good luck on Saturday!

Pirates

The last time I was in the theatre my husband and I saw Babel. We got popcorn*. Last night I saw Pirates of the Caribbean At World's End with two girlfriends. We did NOT get popcorn*. They talked me into to going, it did not take too much talking. It was the first I had seen of the Pirates movies. Yes, I really am that out of the "in"!

Now, I so want to see the first and second movies and now I may have to add these to my "to knit" list.

*I was not allowed to get popcorn or buy anything at a movie as a kid. So, having popcorn at a movie always reminds me of going on dates. I actually remember saying on dates, "you mean I can get popcorn if I want it"!

Mango Moon

This post is especially for you, Marsha. You asked for pattern suggestions using a single skein of Mango Moon Recycled Silk. A few years ago I saw scarf in "Unraveled" (a lovely local shop which unfortunately had to close) made with the yarn, admired it and jotted down the pattern on a scrap of paper. Of course, now I can't find the scrap of paper.

But, I just e-mailed Joy who used to work at the shop and she knew exactly what scarf I was talking about. She wrote to me in reply:
